Cookie Policy
Effective June 6, 2026 — what we store on your device and how to control it
This Cookie Policy explains how URLNOW.ME ("URLNOW.ME", "we", or "us"), a product operated by GoProgs Technologies Pvt Ltd, uses cookies and similar technologies on the URLNOW.ME website and related services. It complements our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
By continuing to use the Services you agree to the use of cookies described below. You can change your browser settings at any time to refuse, delete, or restrict cookies — see section 7 for instructions.
1 What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your device to remember information between page loads — for example, that you are signed in, or which workspace you last used. We also use closely related technologies such as local storage and session storage, which work the same way for the purposes of this Policy.
Cookies can be set by us ("first-party") or by third parties whose code we embed for specific features ("third-party"). They can be deleted at the end of a browsing session ("session cookies") or persist across visits ("persistent cookies").
2 Why we use cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies to:
- keep you signed in and help confirm that account actions were requested by you;
- remember your active workspace, theme, and basic interface preferences;
- understand which features are used so we can improve them;
- protect the platform from abuse (rate limiting, bot challenges).
We do not use cookies to build cross-site advertising profiles, and we do not sell information collected through cookies.
3 Strictly necessary cookies
These cookies are required for the Services to function. Without them you cannot sign in, submit forms, or stay logged in across pages.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
urlnow_session |
Keeps you signed in and helps us show only the links, settings, and workspaces you are allowed to access. | Session |
XSRF-TOKEN |
Helps protect forms and account actions from being submitted without your permission. | Session |
remember_web_* |
Set when you choose "remember me" so you don't have to sign in every visit. | Up to 5 years |
4 Functional cookies
Functional cookies remember choices that change how the Services look or behave for you. They are not required to use the platform but they make the experience more consistent.
| Storage key | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
docsTheme |
Remembers your light or dark theme preference on the documentation pages. | Persistent (local storage) |
current_organization_id |
Server-side, in your session: which workspace you most recently switched to. | Session |
urls |
Browser local storage used to keep a guest user's recent short-link history on that device. | Persistent until you clear browser storage or use the delete-history control. |
5 Analytics cookies
Click analytics for short links are recorded server-side at the time of redirect and do not rely on a tracking cookie placed in the visitor's browser.
For aggregate website usage (which pages and features are used) we use Google Analytics on our public site. Google Analytics sets its own cookies to measure visits — these are listed in the third-party table below.
6 Third-party cookies
Some pages embed third-party services that may set their own cookies. These services are controlled by the providers listed below — please review their cookie notices for details.
| Service | Where | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| hCaptcha | Sign-up, contact, developer access request | Bot challenge / fraud prevention. hCaptcha privacy. |
| Google Sign-In | If you sign in with Google | OAuth handshake set by accounts.google.com. |
| Google Analytics | Public website pages | Measures aggregate visits and usage. Google privacy. |
| Google Fonts | Documentation pages | Serves the typeface used on the page. Does not set tracking cookies on our domain. |
| Adsterra | The link preview page shown briefly before you are forwarded to a short link's destination | Displays a third-party advertisement and may set advertising cookies. Adsterra privacy. |
We don't control how third parties use the data they collect. If you decline these features, the affected pages may not work correctly.
7 Managing cookies
You can accept, refuse, or delete cookies at any time using your browser settings. Most browsers also let you block cookies on a per-site basis. The links below open the official instructions for popular browsers:
If you block strictly necessary cookies the Services will stop working — you will not be able to sign in, create short links, or submit forms.
8 Do Not Track
Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. There is no consensus standard for how sites should respond, so we do not currently change behavior based on DNT signals. We do, however, keep tracking to the minimum required to operate the Services regardless of the signal.
9 Updates to this Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. The "Effective" date at the top of the page reflects the latest revision. If we make material changes — for example, adding a new category of cookies — we will surface a notice in the application before the change takes effect.
